We love Cuillin. This first CD (recorded before the group began touring) captures the spirit of the band although it doesn't reflect the current lineup. It's a Plobreacht Society pick, though, for the rocking piping of wunderkind Matt MacIsaac (my personal choice for runner-up to the Saintly One for piping pyrotechnics), and Mairi Rankin's deft fiddling*. See also Dave Carmichael's CD Emergence. Dave is now the group's vocalist, and we are Very Happy with that.
* She has very deft feet, too, but those don't appear on the CD. |
