Mike MacNintch
Mike MacNintch
The Chanter's Song
Mike MacNintch: scottish small pipes.
Dr J.E. MacNintch: guitar.
Will Cole: guitar.
Hughie Purcell: guitar.
Dan "Big Bang" Kenyon: doumbek.
Rich Danforth: bodhran.
Randy Hunicke: bass.
PM Brian Green: scottish smallpipes.
Marc DuBois: whistle.
Known as The Piping Guru, or The Nintch here in the Northeast, Mike is the Pipe Master of the Manchester, CT, Pipeband and a cohort of the Antipypr. We always delighted when his pipband performs at a festival we attend because they're terrific and because Nintch is such a nice guy (he doesn't run away when he sees us).

This CD, which is all smallpipes music, is a treasured favorite of the Plobreacht Society. The straightforward production and performances on smallpipes, which Mike describes as "a sociable bagpipe" with a "sweet, full, earthy tone" yield a piping CD which is eminently and repeatedly listenable (something many solo piping CDs are not), and even meditative. Come to Ferlochen House and stare at our swamp while you listen to Mike play, and see if you aren't transported.
