This is, undoubtedly, the straightest CD in the whole collection - no psycho pipers, no rhythm section, no step-dancing fiddlers. You could share this CD with your grandmother, and you'd both have a great time. You'll enjoy the music. Gerry Timlin's a straightforward Irish folk singer/guitarist; his partner of 26 years, Tom Kane, accompanies him on the banjo and mandolin. They present here a collection of songs and tunes from a wide variety of respected songweiters. What makes this live CD special is the wonderful, witty banter and stroytelling that enrobes the songs performed, delivered with twinkling eyes and a broad wink. It's worth the purchase price alone for THe Old Dun Cow and Bridy Murphy. It's a great pick-me-up when you're down, and fine company whenever you need it.
